Our Scholars
James Rodgers, Class of 2016 “I want to go to Xavier University and major in science. I want to major in Science because it is fun and you get to do experiments. I like Langston Hughes Academy because we get to learn stuff all of the time. We stay in school more than other schools. My teachers are fun. When you have a problem they try to push you to figure it out yourself. But they will also help you.”
Alexis Jones-Guss, Class of 2015 “ I want to be a doctor, so I can learn all of the subjects especially Science. I have a lot of options for college and some include: LSU, UNO, and Denver. I am going to be the 2nd person in my family to go to college. I have been named a Dream Scholar because I am a leader and respectful. I try to set an example for my classmates.”
Michera Green, Class of 2016 “I want to go to Tulane to be a teacher or a doctor. Dream it. Do it. Be it. means to practice to become what you want to be. You have to practice. I like Fun Fridays especially when we celebrated Langston Hughes' birthday and listened to his poetry. I also like it when we have a publishing party in writing class.”
